White Kelly Bag
Although Hermès created a vareius products like saddles and harnesses, it was not until 1922 that handbags were introduced to the fashion house by Thierry’s son and successor, Charles-Emile Hermès. Within a matter of years, Hermès became quite known for their handbags, including their most popular “Kelly” and “Birkin” styles, which remain as part of the Hermès line today.’
The Kelly bag is so named after the actress Grace Kelly. In 1956, the then Princess of Monaco used one of her two favorite Hermès bags to shield her pregnancy from the paparazzi.
After getting married my husband sent me to Hermes and told me to pick out a white bag.
I chose this Kelly!
How do I use my Kelly Bag?
I bring my Kelly along on days that I plan to open shopping, if I have lots of errands to run, and honestly it’s just a good day to day bag. There’s a shoulder strap, ample room, and a secure top so things don’t fall over in the car. However, I do have to say that if I’m having to carry lots of things to and from the office or taking things in and out go my bag frequently, I find a tote easier to wear – you don’t have to “unclasp” anything to get items out and there’s lots of room. On those days, I usually carry my Evelyne III.
