It has been almost 25 years since the flagship Nobu opened in Tribeca. Since then, the Nobu Malibu restaurants have remained the standard-bearer for upscale Japanese resturants across the globe.
One of my favorite Nobu locations is Malibu. Not only is the sushi amazing, but the staff are always on point, and the view is breathtaking as you dine on a deck that hovers over the water. Despite the fact that this location was recently rebuilt to accommodate more guests (I think in 2012), it is always the hardest to get a table, because it’s just that good!
Although the Sushi Bar has unreserved first come, first serve seating, there is still a small wait. Thankfully we called the night before and there was a cancellation (We got lucky) at 3pm. Even though we wanted to have dinner around 7pm, we knew we were very lucky to get a last minute table at any time on such last minutes notice – so we took the 3pm reservation.
Dinner was amazing as always, that being said I am still new to this blogging thing and new to not devouring every dish as soon as it touches the table, especially at Nobu. So here are a few dishes I forgot to take photos of, but still highly recommend:
-Rock Shrimp Tempura with Ponzu or Creamy Spicy Sauce
-Crab Cake with Uni Bernaise
-Black Cod with Miso (this is a classic! I’m pretty sure Nobu created it)
-Japanese A5 Wagyu from Kyushu, Japan
